LUCBAN, Quezon, Philippines -- For the Catholic faithful who want to have a spiritual experience this Holy Week, a hilly portion in the village of Tinamnan at the foot of mystical Mount Banahaw, 2 km from this town's center, is the place to meditate.
The hill has been transformed into a virtual "stairway to heaven" with the monumental Stations of the Cross strategically spread along the pathway and the grotto of the Virgin Mary at the center.
After the physically exhausting 292 steps on the concrete stairs on the left ascent, and 278 if one climbs from the right with only a rope to cling on, a 50-foot concrete icon of the resurrected Christ, with all the sanctifying glory of his outstretched hands, welcomes devotees at the summit.
For the legions of the sick and the afflicted, The "sacred place" is better known as the "KAMAY NI HESUS HEALING CENTER"
