The Provincial Government of Laguna launch the 2nd ANILAG or Ani ng Laguna Festival on March 6, 2005 at the Provincial Capitol Compound in Sta. Cruz. The occasion dubbed as the Mother of all Festivals is a five-day affair that starts on March 6 and ends on March 10, 2005.
Laguna is already known for Pakils Turumba Festival, the oldest running festival in the province; San Pablo Citys Coconut Festival; Nagcarlans Ana Kalang Festival; and other emerging festivals that showcases the arts, crafts, products and spectacles within the province. Laguna is also home to the famous buko pies of Los Banos, Cavintis sumbrero or hats, Victorias kinulob na itik, Liliws tsinelas or footwear, Sta. Cruzs kesong puti, Lumbans barong, Paetes papier-mache, Luisianas banig pandan and other products and delicacies. Provincial Government conceptualized the said event to further boost tourism, trade and industry, and livelihood among others that are really flourishing and thriving in Laguna.
